Cookies Policy

1. What are Cookies?

Cookies are small sets of data that a website can store on your computer or mobile phone. Cookies allow the website to "remember" your actions during your browsing session. Although most browsers, such as Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Safari, and Opera, support the use of cookies, users can set their browsers not to accept cookies or to delete them afterward.

2. Usefulness of Cookies

Cookies can perform many functions and are mainly used to measure the traffic of a website as a whole or specific subpages. For example, cookies can record:

  • The number of live visitors or visitors per hour of the day

  • Their geographic origin

  • The operating system and screen resolution of their computer

  • The page from which they came (via search engine, link from another page, or direct entry)

  • The keyword used in the search engine

Other cookies can remember, for the convenience of the user, the language choice or the search results on a website. Others can record failed login attempts to a website, prompting further verification such as entering an additional code sent via SMS to the user's mobile phone after a certain number of failed login attempts.

3. Use of Cookies

3.1 CMS Wix! Cookies

The website is designed using the Wix! content management system (CMS), which by default stores cookies on the user's computer to improve their browsing experience. These cookies include:

  • Session Cookies: These cookies allow users to be recognized during their browsing session so that various choices they make are remembered and carried from subpage to subpage. For example, in online stores, session cookies remember the items added to the shopping cart. In our case, although we do not sell products, session cookies work similarly by storing all user preferences. Session cookies are automatically deleted from the user's computer after the session ends, which occurs 15 minutes after their last action on the site.

3.2 Universal Analytics Cookies

Google Universal Analytics uses cookies to report user interactions on the websites of Google Analytics customers. These cookies are used to store non-personally identifiable information:

  • _ga: Used to identify unique visitors to our website and has a lifespan of two years from the user's last visit.

  • _gat: Used for anonymous tracking of visitor behavior during their browsing session and has a lifespan of ten minutes from the user's visit. It tracks, for example, the entry and exit subpages, time spent on each subpage, etc.

Note: The lifespan of these cookies may change without prior notice by Google.

4. Obtaining Consent from the Visitor

Given that Google Universal Analytics cookies are third-party cookies concerning our site and do not fall under the traffic analysis cookies exemption of paragraph 5 of article 4 of Law 3471/2006, our website obtains the visitor's consent before storing cookies on their terminal equipment. Users can delete cookies stored by our site in their browser settings at any time.

Specifically, our website uses a special component that prevents cookies from being stored on the visitor's terminal equipment unless consent is given by clicking an acceptance button. Next to the acceptance button, there is a link leading to this cookie policy, where users can read all necessary information to decide whether to consent to the acceptance of cookies.

5. Controlling and Deleting Cookies

You can control and/or delete cookies according to your preferences. Details can be found at www.aboutcookies.org. You can delete all cookies already on your computer and set most browsers to prevent cookies from being installed. However, in this case, you may need to adjust some preferences manually each time you visit a website, and some services may not function properly.
